    Single Sided PCB (1-layer PCB board) only arranges circuit components and lines on one side, with a simple structure and low cost (usually 30% -50% lower than double-layer PCB), suitable for low complexity scenarios such as small household appliances and toys, but wiring needs to avoid cross interference. Double Sided PCB can be wired on both sides, and interlayer interconnection is achieved through vias (aperture 0.3-0.5mm), supporting high-density design (line width/spacing up to 0.1mm), widely used in high-performance demand fields such as computers and communication equipment.


    Single Sided PCB does not have connections between layers, so there are no processes such as electroplating, only the program for circuit fabrication. If it is a Double Sided PCB, in addition to the production of circuits and holes, electroplating procedures inside the holes should also be added If the circuit PCB board has more than two layers, there will be a program for making and pressing inner layer circuits because there are other hidden circuit layers inside the circuit PCB board.

    What is the difference between single-sided PCB board and double-layer PCB board

    1-layer PCB refers to a single-sided PCB, which is widely used in the assembly of core components of different electronic devices. A double-layer PCB board refers to a PCB board that can be wired on both sides. So what is the difference between a single-layer PCB board and a double-layer PCB board?     1. Material difference

    A single-sided PCB with copper foil on one side is a well-known PCB board. For double-layer PCBs, both sides have copper foil and can be wired. They use conductive through holes for connection, and there is a significant price difference between the two.


    2. Differences in craftsmanship

    Usually, the solder joints of single-sided PCBs are mostly on the same side, while the other side is for inserting components. Some devices also have SMD components in their copper foil. For double-layer PCB boards, both sides can be soldered, which allows for both plug-in components and SMD components.


    3. Copper layer difference

    A single-sided PCB board is mainly used to install metal circuits for connecting parts on an insulated PCB board, which serves as a support carrier for part installation. For double-layer PCB boards, when there is a shortage of single-sided circuits to meet the demand for electronic component connections, the circuits can be installed on both sides of the base PCB board, and through-hole circuits can be arranged on the base PCB board to connect the circuits on both sides of the PCB board.
